Global Alzheimer's disease patients

One new paitent will be diagnosed roughly every ~16 seconds

This figure is an underestimate.

It is likely impossible to know the true burden that Alzheimer's carries on the world, but this is one estimation.

1 in 3 seniors will die from Alzheimers or another dementia. It kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined

And it's not just them.

In America alone, more than 11 Million unpaid caregivers, usually our loved ones, will provide over 12.3 billion hours of unpaid care. This would be valued at $257 billion dollars.

There is currently no cure. But together, we will find one.

I built this counter based on the 2050 estimates of global AD rates, from the alzheimers association and this paper

my linear estimate of the non-linear 2050 model approximates global AD rates by:

percent_AD = (1.5E-12 * global_population)-0.0048

If you have a suggestion on how to improve it, please let me know!
